First-Time Freshman Students

Florida ¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ·¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ > Admissions > First-Time Freshman Students

A student who has never been admitted to and enrolled in a degree program at Florida ¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ·¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ nor any other post-secondary institution of higher education is considered a First-Time Freshman student. This includes dual enrollment students who have not yet graduated from high school. Florida ¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ·¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ utilizes a holistic approach to admission which includes academic history, extracurricular activities, volunteer service, and an optional admission essay.

    Domestic students must also submit theÌýÌý(FAFSA) to be considered for institutional scholarships and federal financial assistance.All students should submit the ÌýFlorida residents should submit the (EASE) application.

High School Course Distribution Requirements for Florida Residents

A student’s high school preparation should include units in the following core areas:

  • English: 4 units (3 with substantial writing)
  • ²Ñ²¹³Ù³ó±ð³¾²¹³Ù¾±³¦²õ: 3 units (Algebra 1 and above)
  • Natural Science: 3 units (2 with lab)
  • Social Science: 3 units
  • Foreign Language: 2 units (in the same language)
  • Approved Electives: 4 units

High School Graduation: Graduated from an accredited high school or the equivalent GED is required.

Grade Point Average: A minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 2.4 is required. Students who have a high school cumulative grade point average which places them in the top twenty percent of their graduating class, and who complete the high school course distribution requirements as specified below, shall be given automatic admission to Florida ¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ·¸£Àû×ÊÔ´.

Admission Test Scores

Applicants should submit SAT or ACT scores. Test scores are also used for advisement and placement purposes for first-time-in-college applicants.

  • Summer
    • 2.0 -2.39 GPA (unweighted)
    • SAT Score Range 500 – 699
    • ACT Score Range 13 – 16
    • Conditional Acceptance (pending final GPA)
  • Fall
    • 2.4 and up GPA (unweighted)
    • Minimum SAT Score 700 and up
    • Minimum ACT Score – 17 and up
    • Acceptance (maintain GPA through graduation)
