久久精品福利资源coming 2025: History In The Making /homecoming-2025-history-in-the-making/ Wed, 29 Oct 2025 18:41:00 +0000 /?p=21051 By: Janiya Moore

This year鈥檚 homecoming wasn鈥檛 just a celebration of our past; it was a week of events where Lions, alumni, and friends came together to make history. Students described homecoming as family-friendly and welcoming for new Lions. Under new leadership and with record-breaking student and alumni participation, FMU proved that history isn鈥檛 just remembered here, it鈥檚 created. As President William McCormick stated, 鈥淓ach event brought value to the theme 鈥業t鈥檚 Our Time鈥.鈥

Faith and Fellowship

The week began with an uplifting afternoon of praise and worship that motivated students and reminded them of the inspirational alumni who still support us today. At the 久久精品福利资源coming Hallelujah, FMU alumnus Susie Austin, C. Vernon Martin, Rev. LaTousha Daniels, and Rev. Dr. Jacques Wright received awards for their ministry work in the community. Dr. Jamila Jackson鈥檚 encouraging sermon set the tone for the week, filling the room with energy that created the perfect start to 久久精品福利资源coming 2025.

The excitement continued the next day at the 久久精品福利资源coming Kickoff, where scholars participated in the first official Battle of the Classes. They competed in math competitions, games, and various races. Miss Campus Ministry, Kortney Purnell, explained that the night was a fun highlight of her homecoming week after the seniors earned redemption in an intense game of tug of war. Senior Carnessia Patton described the kickoff as a great experience because it showcased community and fellowship as all the classes came together. By Thursday, this community had grown in size and pride. At the Alumni Fish Fry and Yard Fest, students enjoyed food, music, and meeting the welcoming alumni of Florida 久久精品福利资源. Freshmen students expressed joy in joining a genuine community where camaraderie and encouragement marked their first steps as Lions.

Culture and Community

This year鈥檚 events also celebrated culture, diversity, and community as Lions from all backgrounds stepped out to embrace their differences at the International Festival on October 14th. The event, filled with food, flags, and music, gave students the chance to connect, try cuisines from around the world, and appreciate the beauty in each other鈥檚 traditions. As alumnus Christian Edgerson expressed, this year鈥檚 events reflected the growth of the community through Black culture, soul food, and Lions being brought together as one. Inspired by that sense of unity, Mister Campus Ministry Kheron Duprat suggests more events celebrating diversity and heritage for future homecomings.

Wipe Me Down Wednesday鈥檚 Throwback Block Party, a highlight of homecoming week for many Lions, showcased student life on campus. Lions stepped out in their 鈥90s and 2000s outfits, ready to represent their school. Students brought the event to life with their strolling and dancing, which made the block party a memorable celebration of culture and school spirit.

Friday kept the pride alive with the Annual Alumni Luncheon, which was described as President McCormick鈥檚 favorite event. This year at the luncheon, national and local organizations, as well as alumni and friends, made generous donations in honor of our university and scholars. The support and dedication to our Lions from different organizations, schools, and alumni reflected the collaboration and commitment that continue to strengthen our community.

Pride and Performance

On the night of October 17th, the action-packed concert and stepshow began, featuring artists Big Boogie and YK Niece. Freshmen students were particularly excited about their introduction to the various Greek and student organizations on campus. Lions filled the Wellness Center to cheer on the student organizations as they strolled, danced, and represented their groups with pride. The brothers of Alpha Phi Omega took the win at this year鈥檚 homecoming stepshow with enthusiastic creativity and individualism that made them stand out to the crowd and judges.

Packed with students, alumni, family, and friends, the tailgate and football game on Saturday, October 18th, stood out as the week鈥檚 liveliest event. Our Lions faced the Royals of Warner University at Betty T. Ferguson Stadium. They came into the game well prepared after weeks of practice, demonstrating the team’s dedication to a strong performance. This preparation was evident when they started the game off strong with 2 touchdowns in the first quarter. The Lions maintained their lead and won the game with a score of 49-21. During halftime, the Roar Marching Band, Fierce Flag Corp, and the Lion Essence dancers hit the field, performing to the band鈥檚 version of popular songs from artists like Luther Vandross.

Following the game, alumni, students, and family made their way to the presidential after-tailgate celebration, where more music, strolling, community, and fun awaited. 久久精品福利资源coming 2025 ended with a dominating football win, lasting memories for all who participated, and remarkable growth of support and community. Miss Pre-Alumni Council, Faythe Ginn, acknowledged the school’s development, explaining that this year鈥檚 homecoming was proof of our growing community since involvement among Lions and peers has increased compared to previous years.

From the soulful kickoff service at the Susie C. Holley Religious Center to our exciting football win, the Lions showed up and showed out to make history at this year鈥檚 homecoming. It was a week of unforgettable events that truly proved to everyone that 鈥業t鈥檚 Our Time鈥.
