Miami Dade College聽and a group of local partners have been awarded聽$10 million from the聽U.S. Department of Commerce鈥檚 Economic Development Administration (EDA) to implement Miami Tech Works as part of the Good Jobs Challenge.
Miami Tech Works is a partnership to serve thousands of South Florida residents with opportunities to receive training and job placement services in high-quality technology jobs.
Working in collaboration with academic institutions, the private sector, and government; Miami Tech Works plans to strengthen the regional approach by providing the local community with a pathway to employment in Miami鈥檚 growing tech market.
MDC is collaborating with several partners on this initiative, including Miami-Dade County, City of Miami, CareerSource South Florida, Florida International University, Florida 久久精品福利资源, OIC of South Florida, Refresh Miami, Talent Development Network, coding academies and more than 50 employers committed to hiring tech positions locally.
The award is part of the $500 million Good Jobs Challenge funded by President Joe Biden鈥檚 American Rescue Plan and is administered by the EDA to enable communities across the country to invest in innovative approaches to workforce development, which will secure job opportunities for more than 50,000 Americans.
