On Thursday, March 20, Florida ¾Ã¾Ã¾«Æ·¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ celebrated 146 years of academic excellence!
The It’s Our Time: Preserving Our Past, Empowering Our Future Founders’ Day Ceremony was heldÌýin the Susie C. Holley Religious Center.

Founders’ Day is special because we must never forget the sacrifices made by those who paved the way to establish our university in 1879.
The keynote was delivered by Senior Political Advisor, the Honorable Dwight M. Bullard, who spoke poetically aboutÌýunderstanding the importance of appreciating where you are using the lyrics ofÌýLift Ev’ry VoiceÌýto drive home the point in this current political climate.

TheÌýFounders’ÌýDayÌýCeremony was also a time to honor those who are making an impact within our communities.
The recipients of the FMU 2025 Service Awards were the following: Mr. William Berry, Nathan W. Collier Meritorious Service Award; Dr. Justine Redding, Sarah A. Blocker Meritorious Award; Mr. Greg White, Royal Puryear Community Advocate Award; Mr. Rodney Baltimore, Edward T. Graham Meritorious Trailblazer Award; and FMU’s Rev. Dr. Jamila Jackson, Howard Thurman Meritorious Servant Leader Award.
After the annual ceremony, guests went ahead to the Lou Rawls Center for the Performing Arts for an Evening to Remember Concert by Grammy nominated alumni artists. There was a special Founders’ Day celebration in the Marketplace Dining Hall for the students, and the Founders’ Day Dinner Finale was held in the Smith Conference Center where special announcements were made, and donations were presented to the university.
